Oakley came on the Doveton map in the year 1955, when the Doveton Corrie Protestant Schools Association purchased the property on General Collins Road, Choolai, Chennai - 600112 from Mr. Howard Oakley on 29th January 1955 for educational purpose.
On 15th July 1955, the Oakley Nursery School was established at the newly acquired property at General Collins Road. On 1st April 2000, the name was changed to Doveton - Oakley. A year later, a Catering School under the Management of Doveton - Oakley was founded.
The Doveton - Oakley owes a lot to the President, Mr. H. E. Wilkins, who never tires to periodically visit the Institute and never fails to inspect the classrooms and other buildings on the campus. His untiring efforts can be seen in the general maintenance of all classrooms and the campus. He has gone out of his way to make Doveton - Oakley a monument of early education in Chennai.
